Description
L’œuvre représente une silhouette anthropomorphe avec les jambes écartées et les bras arrondis vers l'intérieur. Un bourrelet en surépaisseur souligne le dessus de la tête. Aucun organe (yeux, bouche, sexe) n'est figuré, et les deux faces semblent identiques. La surface est uniquement animée par un décor de lignes rayonnantes. Si l'objet paraît symétrique au premier abord, on s'aperçoit vite que ce n'est qu'approximatif : un bras est plus bas que l'autre, les enroulements sont différents et les jambes n'ont pas tout à fait les mêmes proportions.#Cette pièce est constituée de cuivre non allié montrant une pureté relativement grande. Elle semble avoir été fondue en un seul jet, et les extrémités (bras et jambes) ont été ensuite retravaillées par martelage. L'arrondi des bras a alors été modifié (on note les impacts des coups de marteau sur la tranche externe) et l'extrémité des jambes a été affinée, alors que le bourrelet de la tête a été renforcé.#Les deux faces de cet objet paraissent avoir été dorées. Une observation sous loupe binoculaire à fort grossissement (X40) laisse apparaître de très fines particules évoquant de l'or au sein des produits de corrosion du cuivre et des sédiments agglomérés en surface. La couche d'or était extrêmement fine et s'est en grande partie désagrégée sous la poussée des produits de corrosion. La technique de réalisation de cette dorure n'a pas pu être mise clairement en évidence mais on peut raisonnablement penser d'après son aspect qu'il pourrait s'agir de très fine feuilles.#Nouvelles traces de corrosion observées durant le 2e récolement décennal (cf. photographies).
