Description

Facture assez soignée. Au centre, un sillon circulaire de 1,5cm de diamètre extérieur et dans un cartouche de 0,13cm et 0,30cm de haut, on lit assez distinctement : « OF ABN », A et B étant liés. Aucun sigle correspondant à cette lecture n'a été trouvé dans Oswald ni dans l'index de Schaetzen. La ligature entre A et B semble montrer la présence d'un L entre ces deux lettres, et nous avons alors « OF ALBN ». On peut penser à ALBANVS mais le A ne paraît pas visible à moins qu'il n'ait été volontairement oublié ; par contre le premier jambage de la lettre N, un peu plus haut qu'il n'est nécessaire, pourrait correspondre à une ligature entre I et N, auquel cas nous aurions « OF ALBIN » ? ABLINVS a exercé à la Graufesenque entre 15 et 75. Dans le cas où la lecture d'ALBANVS prévaudrait, ce potier a exercé à la Graufesenque entre 15 et 80 ; ce qui ne change ni la datation ni l'origine du vase.
