Manuscrit sur vélin ; Velours rouge sur ais de bois (reliure du XVIIe siècle) Ecriture gothique sur une seule colonne de 15 lignes. Onze grandes miniatures dans la lignée des oeuvres tardives sorties de l'atelier du 'maître du duc de Bedford'. Sur toutes les pages, bordures de feuillages et de fleurettes en or et couleurs, très fines. Peut-être deux mains différentes, notamment dans l'exécution des décors marginaux. Au folio 26 verso, inscription à l'encre : 'Jaques de Bourbon, vostre bon frère'. En dessous, 'Ma pistodole, spere [attends] ton frere' Les cahiers sont constitués de quaternions, les réclames subsistent pour la plupart. Quand elles sont absentes, elles renseignent sur les lacunes qu'a subies le manuscrit : les trois premiers cahiers ont perdu des feuillets ; le fol. qui suit le fol 74r est manquant ; le cahier 75 sqq est lacunaire (une page est arrachée, elle devait porter une enluminure comme en témoigne l'impression sur le fol en vis-à-vis) ; il manque un folio après fol. 88v et le cahier qui suit est très lacunaire ; la fin du manuscrit est très altérée.
