Description
Cette pendule de Paris, à poser, dite 'cathédrale' est représentative de l'art troubadour qui était en vogue sous la Restauration (1820-1830). Le décor de la pendule reprend les éléments de l'architecture gothique. Entièrement en bronze dorée, elle figure une entrée de cathédrale surmontée d'un fronton triangulaire et décorée de motifs polylobés. De chaque côté, on trouve une colonne ornée de statues et surmontée d'un dais. L'intégralité du décor est surmonté par un clocheton orné d'une croix. Ce clocheton contient une cloche et un marteau. Le cadran en bronze doré représente une rosace polylobée sur un fond rouge. Chaque chiffre romain noir du cadran est inscrit dans un médaillon quadrilobé. Les aiguilles noires sont en forme de poire. Le socle en bois possède 4 niveaux. Le premier niveau est orné en son pourtour d'une guirlande de grappes de raisin et de feuilles de vigne ainsi que d'un calice en son centre. Le quatrième niveau du socle est percé d'une fente pour recevoir le globe en verre
