Description
Pendule de Paris, à poser. Pendule en bois marqueté, un décor floral et un panier sont représentés sur l'avant de la boîte en marqueterie. La mécanique est à échappement à ancre ; la suspension du balancier est à fil. L'énergie provient des barillets ressorts. Sur la photographie agrafée à la fiche d'inventaire, qui date de 1992, on voit un mécanisme 'squelette' (sans cadran) avec des aiguilles noires de type Bréguet. Le cadran actuel est émaillé blanc, avec des chiffres romains noirs et des aiguilles noires de type bréguet. Les deux arbres de barillet sont visibles à 4h et à 8h, pour le remontage. On suppose donc que le cadran a été rajouté entre 1992 et 2008. La lunette dorée moulurée est d'origine (elle apparaî sur la photographie de 1992). Au sommet de la pendule, une bélière de cuivre

Elle est datée de la 1ère moitié 19e siècle. On sait de cette oeuvre que : CAILLY : Les Cailly sont une famille d'horloger de Saint-Nicolas d'Aliermont, on n'a pas de trace d'un J.-C. Cailly mais Lucien Senateur Cailly, horloger et fabricant d'horlogerie épouse à Saint-Nicolas d'Aliermont en 1829 Rose Stéphanie Croutte, horlogère. Ils ont 4 enfants. On retrouve la famille Cailly à Rouen en 1835 associée à Eude : Eude et Cailly prennent un brevet pour des bateaux se balançant sur des vagues pour orner des pendules.

C'est durant la 1ère moitié 19e siècle que CAILLY J C (horloger) conçoit , porté par un élan de renouvellement artistique qui traverse alors le monde de la création. Le musée de l'Horlogerie conserve aujourd'hui cette pièce née d'un moment historique singulier, où les conventions esthétiques sont remises en question et où de nouvelles voies s'ouvrent aux artistes les plus audacieux.
