Description
La matrice est de forme arrondie, elle est en tissu rembourré, ouverte dans sa hauteur. Elle porte sur le bord inférieur une fente représentant peut-être l'orifice du col pour simuler son effacement pendant la grossesse. L'intérieur est entièrement doublé de peau couleur chair représentant peut-être les membranes. L'ouverture permet de voir le placenta et l'enfant en position foetale (7 mois). La placenta d'un diamètre de 9 cm est positionné à l'intérieur de la matrice dans sa partie supérieure, il est cousu par sa face spongieuse sur la doublure de peau. La face foetale du placenta est brodée de fils rouges et bleus représentant les artères et les veines, rayonnant autour du cordon. Le cordon de couleur écru mesure 50 cm et est relié à l' ombilic du foetus. Le foetus est entièrement rembourré de coton, il est en taffetas de soie couleur rose très clair. La tête est penchée vers l'avant et est attachée sur le ventre par un point de couture. Les cheveux et les yeux sont dessinés à l'encre, le nez est modelé, les oreilles sont faites d'un morceau de cuir cousu. les jambes sont repliées sur le ventre et retenues par les bras croisés. Les doigts et les oreilles sont bien individualisés.
