Description
Petite statuette féminine en bois léger, à grain fin et patiné. La femme est debout et tient un enfant contre son flanc gauche, un bâton à tête arrondie dans la main droite. Le tronc est allongé, les jambes courtes et fléchies aux genoux, les grands pieds plats. Le crâne est arrondi, la coiffure courte, soulignée de noir, les oreilles écartées et haut placées. Le visage est porté en avant avec les yeux soulignés de blanc. Le nez et la bouche sont figurés. Le dos est pratiquement droit, les épaules arrondies ; les bras sont courts et fléchis aux coudes ; ils sont de volume différent. L'enfant, jambes fléchies, corps allongé, est accroché au flanc gauche de sa mère, une main sous le bras, l'autre sur le sein gauche. Les seins sont allongés, la pointe soulignée de noir. L'estomac, l'abdomen, sont ornés d'incisions complexes reprenant les motifs privilégiés de la région sud de la république du Congo. Il s'agit d'une statuette de culte familial
