Description
Lames de cuivre doré clouées sur âme de bois. Décor repoussé, estampé, ciselé et découpé. ; Figure d'applique en laiton fondu argenté ; Clous et éléments de fixation en cuivre et fer ; Sur la face antérieure, chacune des branches de la croix est terminée par un médaillon polylobé sur lequel se trouvent représentés en haut-relief plusieurs figures. La figure de Jésus, surmontée du titulus, a été clouée, sans doute dans un souci de solidité, sur des bandes intermédiaires en laiton plus épaisses, fixées sur la croix. Des éléments d'applique en forme de sphères sont accolés de part et d'autre des parties internes de la croix, tandis que les extrémités supérieures sont garnies de fleurons (les extrémités latérales de la croix en étaient également garnies ainsi que l'atteste la présence de deux trous de fixation). La croix repose sur un globe muni dans sa partie inférieure d'une douille d'emmanchement pour la hampe. Cette sphère était à l'origine décorée de médaillons rapportés ou de gros cabochons fixés par des griffes de sertissage de forme circulaire. Seules les quatre montures subsistent
