Anonyme — 18th Century

Description

Porcelaine et oxyde de cobalt appliqué sous couverte transparente, émail capucin sur couverte ; Ce petit bol a conservé sa soucoupe assortie, bien qu’étant fortement restauré. Le fond du bol et de la soucoupe présentent un motif de chrysanthème en oxyde de cobalt sur fond blanc laissé en réserve et cerné d’un filet bleu, tandis qu’une frise végétale orne la lèvre. Le revers est recouvert d’un émail épais couleur café au lait surnommé « émail capucin ». Des zones blanches ont été aménagées sur la panse du bol et portent des chrysanthèmes en oxyde de cobalt sur fond laissé en réserve. Ce bol présente des similitudes très fortes avec les bols en émail capucin et décor de bleu sur fond blanc découverts sur l’épave du Geldermalsen, navire de la Compagnie des Indes Hollandaises échoué en 1752 au large de la mer de Chine méridionale.
