Description

Porcelaine dure de type famille rose ; décors d'émaux opaques et semi-opaques appliqués sur couverte. ; Siège de faÏence en forme de petit baril octogonal, style chinois avec un décor ajouré, bleu et rose et vert. ; L’inventaire mentionne « tabouret à opium » mais cette fonction fantasmée ne correspond pas à l’usage de ces assises, surnommées « tabourets de jardin ». En effet, cette forme existe dans le mobilier chinois dès la dynastie Ming (1368-1644). Cette mention était peut-être une manière de rendre l’objet plus exotique, à moins que le propriétaire occidental ne s’en soit servi précisément pour cette fonction.
