Description
Cruche à eau en céramique commune rouge-orange tourné, à panse ovoïde; à carène médiane marquée d'un filet incisé; à petite anse en C, section plate à double bourrelets, de l'épaule au col; à épaule marquée d'un large filet plat en rehaut; à col légèrement incurvé; à lèvre ourlée vers l'extérieur en bourrelet et bec verseur (subsiste départ) ; 'La cruche à anse unique, type de vase importé par les Romains, est le récipient par excellence de la conservation et du service des liquides (eau, vin, lait, etc..). Cette production locale, très abondante, se caractérise par une cuisson en atmosphère oxydante (mode C) qui donne le plus souvent une couleur brique; elle s'étend du Ier au IIIe siècle. Ces vases ont aussi pu servir aux rites funéraires, comme l'attestent les n° c) et (m), trouvés dans les nécropoles; quant aux cruches de petites dimensions, comme les n° (e) et (f), elles étaient destinées à des dépôts votifs, comme ceux découverts à Alésia.
