Description

Assiette (catini ou catilli) en céramique fine fumigée ou terra nigra : circulaire à rebord ourlé vers l'extérieur et haut; fond aplati et traces de tour ; 'Assiette en terre noire, plate et unie. Diam. 0,18 Trouvée au Jardin Poizeau, fg d'Arroux, 1891' Inventaire Bulliot ; 'L'assiette (d), sans pied, possède un rebord vertical. Cette céramique fumigée, que l'on appelle souvent gallo-belge, parce que très répandue dans le nord et l'est de la Gaule, ainsi qu'en Angleterre, est aussi désignée sous le nom de terra nigra. Il s'agit d'une production de céramique fine et soignée, dans des ateliers indigènes (ici dans le Centre de la Gaule), au début de la colonisation. Plusieurs assiettes très proches de celles d'Autun ont été découvertes dans les fouilles du Mont-Beuvray.
