Description

Grès à couverte céladon avec décor incisé sous couverte ; Brûle-parfum en forme de Luduan 甪端 Chine, Longquan, dynastie Ming (1368-1644) Grès à couverte céladon avec décor incisé sous couverte Ce brûle-parfum prend la forme d’un animal chimérique appelé luduan (ou jiaoduan), qui a la faculté de parcourir plus de 9 000 kilomètres en une journée… et de parler quatre dialectes. Dressé sur ses quatre pattes, doté d’une crinière et d’une corne frontale, il ressemble à un lion. De sa gueule ouverte devait s’échapper la fumée. Son corps ramassé en une panse ovoïde, et sa tête faisant office de couvercle, s’inspirent de modèles en bronze illustrés dans des manuels de peinture à la fin de la dynastie des Ming. La couverte céladon, tirant vers le vert olive, est appliquée sur un biscuit orangé caractéristique des productions des fours de Longquan. (Pauline d'Abrigeon, 2023)
