Bois, laque de « Coromandel » (décor gravé et coloré, dit kuan cai 款彩, polychromie, dorure) ; Paravent : scène de palais, les festivités en l’honneur du général Guo Ziyi (697-781) des Tang Chine, dynastie Qing, époque Kangxi (1662-1722) ou Qianlong (1736-1795), fin du XVIIe-XVIIIe siècle Bois, laque dite de « Coromandel » (décor gravé et coloré, dit kuan cai, polychromie, dorure) Dans le cabinet chinois de Jehannin de Chamblanc, les huit « feuilles » composant ce paravent étaient dissociées et encadrées en boiseries, agrémentant le lieu d’un exotique décor de gravures et de couleurs, caractéristique des laques de « Coromandel ». Ce nom fait référence aux côtes orientales de l’Inde, où de tels paravents étaient débarqués des jonques chinoises puis transférés sur les navires des Compagnies des Indes en partance pour l’Europe. La vibrante scène de palais montre un cortège arrivant par la droite pour se présenter au général Guo Ziyi (697-781), qui trône dans le pavillon central, tandis que la gauche de la composition décrit le quartier des femmes.
