ROGER : Moreuil 1941 - Danier ROGER est né le 30 août 1941 à Moreuil (Somme). Il est très tôt sensibilisé à l'art et aux musées par son père, lui-même artiste amateur mais n'ayant jamais exposé. Daniel Roger suit une formation initiale en dessin industriel, puis est employé dans des bureaux d'études. Il commence à peindre en autodidacte à partir de 1975. L'année suivante il s'installe à Péronne comme encadreur, commerce qu'il tiendra jusqu'en 2003. Depuis toujours, et encore aujourd'hui, il se charge lui-même de l'encadrement de ses oeuvres. Sa formation en dessin industriel l'aide beaucoup dans ses rapports à la géométrie, l'harmonie de ses compositions et sa production artistique en 3 dimensions, où la matière est sculptée sur les toiles avant la mise en couleur. L'ouvre de Daniel Roger hésite entre surréalisme et figuratif. Après un voyage de 3 semaines en Italie, il revient marqué surtout par la ville de Venise, qui sera son thème de prédilection jusqu'au milieu des années 1990. Puis le peintre délaisse Venise pour des représentations de la femme, avec parfois quelques réminiscences vénitiennes dans le costume. Depuis le milieu des années 2000, Daniel Roger se consacre presque uniquement à la représentation de bords de mer. Il continue d'exposer aux seins de plusieurs salons régionaux. Il a déjà reçu le Premier prix de la ville de Bapaume, et la Médaille d'or aux Salons de Péronne, Albert et Pont-Saint-Maxence.
