MAISON J. ROTHSCHILD & FILS, RHEIMS ET AUSCHER & CO : La Maison J. Rothschild & Fils fut fondée en 1838, par Jonas Rothschild, qui était originaire de la ville allemande de Hofgeismar, située près de Kassel. La Maison J. Rothschild & Fils fut dirigée à partir du début des années 1860 par le fils du fondateur, Sigismond Rothschild (1840-1890), qui en assura la croissance et la renommée. En 1890, elle fut rachetée par un industriel, Edmond Rheims (1850-1931) et Léon Auscher (1869-1940), tout jeune ingénieur des Arts et Manufactures. Ceux-ci l'engagèrent dans l'industrie de la carrosserie automobile. L'entreprise fut dissoute en 1825.
