Paris, 1922 ; 2011. Peintre#Plutôt qu'un enseignement officiel et régulier, Pierre Lesieur reçoit les conseils d'artistes tels que Garbell et André Lhote. Il travaille beaucoup sur les notes de Renoir, Bonnard et Matisse qui sont sa famille artistique. En 1959 il entreprend un long voyage en Extrême-Orient, Etats-Unis, Mexique, qui exerce une influence importante sur l'évolution de son travail. Pierre Lesieur est un peintre de la lumière et de la couleur. Son œuvre est figurative, mais il demeure peu intéressé par la réalité des choses. Les sujets de ses tableaux sont avant tout prétextes à peinture qu'il veut porter à son plus haut degré d'exaltation : couleurs lumineuses déposées avec raffinement, ambiances en demi-teintes d'une rayonnante intimité familiale, fraîcheurs secrètes d'un jardin provençal. Comme l'écrit Jean-Marie Dunoyer à son sujet : "... peinture la plus spécifiquement française qui ait vu le jour depuis Matisse. Là se reconnaît le vrai Pierre Lesieur, le maître d'œuvre d'une féerie polychrome et lumineuse toujours recommencée et qui n'en finit pas de nous émerveiller, où éclate la fanfare rubescente des roses, des écarlates, des jaunes, et plus intensément peut-être, des orangés...". Pierre Lesieur a été l'invité de nombreuses manifestations internationales et exposé régulièrement à Paris, Londres, New-York, Tokyo. Son œuvre est présent dans de nombreux musées, M.N.A.M., Grenoble, Metropolitan Museum de New-York, et dans de très nombreuses collections publiques ou privées.
