Blanzat, 1786 ; Clermont-Ferrand, 1854 ; Il entra en 1793 dans l'école de Gault de Saint Germain à Clermont-Ferrand et exécuta alors des copies de grands maîtres ainsi que des scènes d'Ancien Testament. En 1802, il s'installa à Paris et entra dans l'atelier de David qui l'influença. Il participa dès 1810 au Salon avec l'envoi de portraits. En 1814, il entra à l'école des Beaux-Arts de Paris et reçut des commandes pour des édifices parisiens importants. En 1824, il fit un séjour en Auvergne. En 1883, il fit l'objet d'une exposition personnelle à Clermont-Ferrand où il s'installa définitivement en 1837. Il mourut le 21 novembre 1854.
