Paris, 1938 ; Cenves, 2021. Peintre.#Sa première exposition personnelle a lieu en 1958. Tenté par la non-figuration dans les années 60, il décide de s'exiler du milieu artistique pendant une vingtaine d'années. Revenu à la peinture, il réalise des tableaux figuratifs, dans lesquels le sujet est très souvent la figure féminine. Ses peintures, imprégnées d'érotisme, entraînent la vision vers le fantasme ou le rêve. Le sujet est alors représenté dans un environnement intime et fermé, chaleureux et sensuel, mais qui laisse toujours apercevoir une ouverture sur un paysage, sur la vie extérieure. Peintre de paysage, il écrit : "... j'aime témoigner de sa genèse et de sa lente élaboration, aussi, ne saurais-je pas peindre la nature ou l'homme n'est pas du tout, ou trop". Pour J.C. Besson-Girard, "... peindre, être peintre, ce n'est pas seulement peindre des tableaux, c'est risquer tout son être dans le peu matériel et pour ainsi dire enfantin d'un tableau". Besson-Girard a vécu et travaillé à Malaucène (Vaucluse) avant de s'installer à Cenves, où il décède en 2021.
