Musée du Châtillonnais
Établissement culturel labellisé « Musée de France », le musée du Châtillonnais est implanté à Châtillon-sur-Seine dans le Côte-d'Or.
Pour ce qui est de l'histoire de l'établissement, Fondé en 1882 par la Société archéologique et historique du Châtillonnais, le musée est d'abord installé dans la "maison Philandrier", acquise en 1928 et restaurée par l'association "Sauvegarde de l'art français", soutenue par son Comité américain.
Depuis 2009, le musée occupe l'ancienne abbaye Notre-Dame. Les atouts de ce musée sont : Nombreux et importants vestiges celtes, gallo-romains et médiévaux.
Le musée du Châtillonnais expose le plus grand vase en bronze du monde (1,64 m de haut et 208 kg), un torque (collier) en or (480g) et l'ensemble des objets découverts dans la tombe d'une princesse celtique qui a vécu à Vix il y a 2.500 ans.
L'intérêt du lieu : Bâtiments conventuels d'origine médiévale repris au XVIIe et XVIIIe. Portail d'entrée donnant sur une cour d'honneur jouxtée par l'église Notre-Dame. Les collections permanentes relèvent de : Archéologie, Beaux-arts, Histoire, Sciences de la nature.
