Description
Le support est constitué d'une toile tendue sur un châssis. Le châssis est une structure en bois à clefs, à traverse verticale. Les dimensions correspondant à un format standard F6. Les montants sont chanfreinés et dégraissés. La toile est naturelle, de lin ou de chanvre, elle est très fine, d'armure toile, au tissage serré et aux fils fins. La fixation est réalisée par des semences industrielles, réparties régulièrement. La couche de préparation blanche, fine, huileuse, est présente sur les tranches de la toile. Les couches colorées sont réalisées à l'huile, avec une épaisseur fine et régulière. La touche du pinceau est néanmoins perceptible. Une couche de vernis d'origine naturelle (fluorescence jaune-vert sous U.V.) a été appliquée en surface. Cette couche est ancienne : elle a été appliquée avant l'apparition des craquelures d'âge, comme le confirme l'absence de tâches au revers.
