Elle figure : paysage (étang, berge, barque, marais, arbre, pêche, Villeneuve sur Yonne, Yonne, Bourgogne). Cette réalisation date de la 1er quart 20e siècle. Précisions sur cette oeuvre : PICABIA : Paris 1879 - 1953. Aristocrate par son père, un diplomate cubain, de bonne bourgeoisie française par sa mère, il étudie le dessin à l'Ecole des arts décoratifs et la peinture à l'Ecole des beaux-arts. De 1897 à 1908, il exécute des toiles impressionnistes. Puis, après une courte période cubiste, il rejoint en 1911 le groupe de la Section d'Or, mais le quitte l'année suivante pour se rallier à une conception orphique de la peinture. En 1915, il entre en contact à New-York avec Marcel Duchamp et participe au mouvement Dada. En 1921, il se brouille avec ses anciens amis et suit André Breton quand celui-ci crée le mouvement surréaliste. La littérature s'infiltrant alors dans son inspiration, il se plaît à des jeux graphiques semés d'inscriptions délibérément absurdes, où le dadaïste qu'il fut exprime un impertinent humour. Pour la troupe des Ballets suédois, il crée en 1924 les décors et costumes du ballet Relâche. Mais soudain il revient à l'art figuratif, ce qui ne l'empêche pas, en 1945, de renouer avec la peinture abstraite, dont il peut se targuer d'avoir été un des initiateurs, dès 1909, avec une peinture comme Caoutchouc. Individualiste, sans cesse en quête de son moi et ne pouvant le trouver, Picabia, qui a participé à tous les mouvements esthétiques de son époque, décourage toute approche, échappe à toute définition.
