Le martelage de la rate de VUILLIER Gaston (dessinateur) figure dans les collections du musée du cloître. La réalisation fait appel à papier vélin, crayon graphite, aquarelle, rehaut (gouache, blanche), carton. La pièce a pour dimensions Hauteur en cm 27 ; Longueur en cm 44.1. On y reconnaît : scène (Chazal, homme, forgeron, enclume, femme, coiffe : Limousin, enfant, nu, maladie). Elle est datée de la 4e quart 19e siècle. Informations complémentaires : Gaston Vuillier est né le 7 octobre 1845 à Gincla, près de Perpignan, (Pyrénées Orientales). Après une brève carrière préfectorale, il se consacre à la peinture. Voyageur, illustrateur et auteur, il collabore aux revues 'Le Magasin pittoresque' et 'Le Tour du Monde'. En 1880 il rejoint le groupe des peintres de Crozant. Il adoptera le Limousin et en 1892, se fixera en Corrèze à Gimel-les-Cascades, où il décèdera le 2 février 1915.
