La figure masculine du premier plan vêtu d’une longue capote gris bleu, la tête inclinée sur son bras droit replié sous le visage, évoque irrésistiblement une strangulation : la révolte de ce personnage, dont le bras gauche laisse tomber un fusil, est étouffée. Au second plan, une femme à demi nue et un homme nu s’effondrent. Le cou de l’homme est entouré du foulard rouge qui s’envole. Au fond, flammes et fumées.
