Description
Killoffer (né en 1966) connaît une réputation bien établie dans l’univers de la bande dessinée. Issu de l’École Supérieure des Arts Appliqués Duperré, il est l’un des membres fondateurs de l’Association, maison d’édition culte dont la volonté est de dépasser le style fanzine, pour composer des œuvres littéraires à part entière. Dans cet esprit, la démarche de Killoffer délaisse les concepts classiques de la bande dessinée, comme ceux de série, de personnage, de récit d’aventures, pour élaborer un mode d’expression profondément personnel. Dans sa récente série de dessins au fusain, présentée au musée sous l'intitulée Charbons, il n'est question que de matières, froissées, pliées, contrariées, consumées, de textures et d'espaces, mis en plis, défoncés, vidés ou transpercés. L'artiste tantôt plonge dans les entrailles de la terre, tantôt nous catapulte dans le cosmos et, au beau milieu de tout ça, introduit l'une ou l'autre de ses créatures favorites,alter-ego drolatiques, dans une relecture fantaisiste des codes de l'horreur ou de la science-fiction.
