L'oeuvre représente : portrait (Canel Alfred, homme, en buste, maire, homme politique, Pont-Audemer, ordre de la Légion d'honneur). L'oeuvre appartient à la 4e quart 19e siècle. On sait de cette oeuvre que : Dieppe, 1822 ; ?, 1902 ; élève de David d'Angers, Dieppois, Théodore Blard est l'héritier des sculpteurs ivoiriers comme ses contemporains Graillon et Fourdrin. Il débute au Salon en 1842 avec un buste de femme. Il exécute surtout des médaillons et des bustes : l'Abbé Cochet, Jean Bouzard, sauveteur dieppois, Alfred Canel.
