VUILLIER Gaston (peintre) a réalisé Bords de Creuse, actuellement au musée du cloître. toile, enduit, peinture à l'huile, bois est le procédé utilisé pour cette oeuvre. Mesures : Hauteur en cm 158 ; Largeur en cm 122. L'oeuvre dépeint : paysage (Creuse d, vallée, arbre, biche, cerf, effet de lumière). Cette pièce remonte à la 4e quart 19e siècle. Informations complémentaires : Gaston Vuillier est né le 7 octobre 1845 à Gincla, près de Perpignan, (Pyrénées Orientales). Après une brève carrière préfectorale, il se consacre à la peinture. Voyageur, illustrateur et auteur, il collabore aux revues 'Le Magasin pittoresque' et 'Le Tour du Monde'. En 1880 il rejoint le groupe des peintres de Crozant. Il adoptera le Limousin et en 1892, se fixera en Corrèze à Gimel-les-Cascades, où il décèdera le 2 février 1915.
