BRUNNER-LACOSTE Henri (peintre) a utilisé ici bois (peinture à l'huile). L'oeuvre présente les dimensions suivantes : L. 43.4 cm ; H. 28.6 cm. On y reconnaît : paysage (barque, étang, maison, forêt). Elle a été créée durant la 2e moitié 19e siècle. Note sur cette oeuvre : peintre né à Paris en 1838, mort en 1881. Il fut d'abord l'élève de son père, G. Brunner, peintre de fleurs assez estimé, vers 1840, puis il travailla sous la direction de E. Lepoitevin et A. Faure. Il débuta au Salon de 1859, avec une toile représentant des roses trémières. Au cours des années suivantes, il peignit des sujets empruntés aux Fables de La Fontaine. On lui doit les peintures de la sous-préfecture de Sceaux, de la salle à manger du hameau du château de Chantilly, ainsi que celles de la demeure du duc de Hamilton, à Londres.
