Description
Bouteille de forme conique à six constrictions en verre jaune étamé à l'intérieur. Les constrictions successives du corps effilé constituent une originalité décorative (Cologne, Kunstgewerbemuseum, n° F 654) ou sont liées à l'utilisation de la bouteille. Certains récipients servent à mélanger vigoureusement les liquides. Aussi, les étranglements, en nombre variable, facilitent une bonne prise en main (Amsterdam, Rijksmuseum, n° N.M. 2153). D'autres sont désignées sous le nom de mesure à alcool (Musée de Bourgneuf-en-Retz). La base et le col sont ménagés par l'interruption des ultimes renflements. L'absence d'un véritable goulot, capable de recevoir un bouchon, et l'application de fines feuilles d'étain à l'intérieur du corps, témoignent de la vocation purement décorative de notre pièce. La légèreté et la malléabilité de l'étain permettent aux verriers d'accroître les effets décoratifs. L'opacité de sa couleur blanche tapissée sur le verre translucide jaune imite ainsi la dorure. L'emploi du verre jaune, très prisé par Bernard Perrot pour les flacons de senteur notamment, rattache cette pièce à la pratique de l'artiste orléanais. (Petit, 2005)
