Description
Vase à boule en verre translucide jaune étamé à l'intérieur en forme de pomme de pin. Une fleur de lis orne chacune des faces de la surface irrégulière. Une longue tige, fixée sur une base métallique pleine, signée V. N. SIEGEL / PARIS / 19 RUE REAUMUR soutient le vase. Malgré la parenté très éloignée avec les vases à boules conventionnels, le choix d'une telle désignation s'explique par la technique des pièce n° CAT 1043 , n° CAT 1047 et n° CAT 1048 et n° CAT 1044 de notre collection. L'absence d'un réservoir contrarie évidemment la dénomination initiale de chauffe-mains d'Emile Gleize. D'ordinaire, la tige, fixée à la boule, pénètre dans le vase. Pour l'objet qui nous concerne, la base en dôme circulaire métallique maintient cette tige introduite dans une longue jambe creuse, amorçant le vase en forme de pomme de pin. L'étamage du verre jaune, la boule sommitale, le volume et le relief du décor confirment l'inspiration extrêmement proche des deux pièces et par conséquent, son appartenance à l'esprit des créations de Bernard Perrot. En outre, la fleur de lis couronnée dans une guirlande de feuilles ou de plumes provient du répertoire de l'artiste. Ce décor d'armoiries royales est emprunté aux flacons de senteur. (Petit, 2005)
